ISO friends <3

I'm a 27yr old dyke - bohemian, photographer, artist, poet, musician... ecclectic, eccentric and full of piss and vinegar.  I just moved to NoHo a couple months ago from Philly.  I have a gf and a handful of aquaintances but I really want to meet more people without having to go to Diva's all the time.  I don't mind a night of good dancing but I don't always do the club/bar scene you know?  Tell me... honestly... is there anything else to do in this town to meet people?

Northampton’s 8th annual Sober Dance Party & Entertainment Extravaganza: March 21st!

I had so much fun last year! This event is VERY well-attended and amazingly produced. And though it's not specifically queer, trust me... it's VERY queer oriented. Come dance with me!

PORTABLE TV NEEDED to Rent or Borrow, Western MA

I need a TV console suitable to use with a DVD player (we have the player) during the Best Lesbian Erotica reading at Food for Thought Books in Amherst on Friday, March 6.

One of our local readers is unable to attend due to long-term health problems, and has supplied a DVD of her reading. Since she has been in more volumes of BLE over the years than any other writer, we would especially like to include her.

I can pick up and return the TV anywhere within 30 miles or so of Amherst/Northampton. Any information as to commercial rental possibilities would also be welcome.

 Thanks!

Concert!

A friend of ours is organizing a fundraiser concert of awesome local musicians on March 1st, and we wanted to let you all know about it.

The concert is March 1st at 2:00pm in the Center for the Arts in Northampton. The performers will be:
- The Smith College Smithereens (a capella)
- The Connotations (a capella)
- Kristin Ford and the Model Tease (folk rock)
- Eric Sean Weld
- Idea Fire Company
- Lory Walfisch (piano)
- Ken Forfia (jazz piano)

Also, transversely's dad is the Emcee! :)

Tickets are $12.00 general, $8.00 students and seniors. Email adoptfund4_26@comcast.net to reserve tickets.

The website for the concert is here.

Our friend Jo is raising money because her daughter was sexually assaulted this past summer and became pregnant. She chose to try to turn this awful situation into something good: some friends of the family have been wanting a child, and they will be adopting the baby once he is born.

Unfortunately, since the friends live in Canada, this is an international adoption. That means it has to go through agencies, and will end up costing between $32,000 and $40,000. Hence the fundraisers!

If you are unable to attend but still want to help out, donations can be made at:
http://sites.google.com/site/helpmakeanadoptionpossible/

Please forward far and wide!

Thanks,
rumorofrain and transversely
